About the service
What is dataleasers?
We help operating companies understand what their business data could be worth to AI teams, and we introduce them to Mode, which takes the opportunity forward.
What is Mode?
Mode is the team that takes data licensing for AI forward once an introduction is made. They assess the opportunity and lead discussions with buyers.
Do I have to sell my data?
No. A first call carries no commitment. Nothing moves forward without your approval.
Who are the buyers?
AI teams that need real business records to train and test models. See Who buys.
What kinds of data do you work with?
Conversations, customer support, documents, code and engineering, sales records and operations. See What you can sell.
Rights and personal data
Can I sell data my customers created?
It depends on your contracts and the tool's terms. We check this before any buyer sees the data.
Is anonymised data safe to share?
Removing names does not make data anonymous. Personal information gets its own review.
What if we cannot license everything?
We tell you before anything moves, and we can often narrow the dataset to what is clear.
Do you handle health or financial data?
Some of it is subject to strict rules. We review these case by case and may decline.
Can a buyer use the data however they like?
No. Scope, purpose and length of licence are set in the terms you approve. See What affects a deal.
Money and terms
How much could my data be worth?
We do not publish prices, because value depends on the data, the rights and the terms. We discuss it on a call.
What fees apply?
Fees are agreed in writing before any deal moves forward.
Are there referral fees?
Yes. Mode pays $50,000 or 6% of the partnership value, whichever is bigger, if a company you introduce becomes a qualified data partner and the deal closes. Payment is confirmed in writing. See Refer a company.
When do I get paid?
Payment timing is part of the terms you approve, so it is confirmed before any deal moves forward.
Working with us
How long does it take?
It depends on the data and the rights review. We tell you the likely steps on the first call.
Is the first call confidential?
Yes. We use the details you share only to reply to your enquiry. See How we handle your data.
Can I stop at any point?
Yes. You approve every step, so you can decide not to continue.
